Bike News in Philadelphia

Feb 10, 2015 9 years ago

It's a good time to be a bicyclist in Philadelphia. We are getting closer to the launch of Indego, the new bike share program set to debut this spring, and groups like the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia are pushing for legislation to improve safety for the thousands of bike riders throughout the city. To that end, if you are interested in safe and accessible modes of transportation in Philadelphia, save the date for a mayoral forum on March 19th, from 6-8pm at Friends Center, 1501 Cherry Street. Moderated by Philadelphia magazine Deputy Editor Patrick Kerkstra, the forum will allow citizens to hear where Philadelphia’s mayoral candidates stand on transportation policy, infrastructure, and all the issues covered in the Better Mobility and Safer Streets reports. For more information on the forum, click here.

While the locations are not yet formalized, we are moving closer to knowing the location of Indego bike share stations in University City. UCD was happy to provide data and technical support to assist in the selection of areas within the district. For more information about the launch of Indego, included an interactive map of proposed stations city-wide, head to www.rideindego.com

What do you think of the proposed locations?
