Have you wondered how the Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) and East Coast Greenway (ECG) will continue past the South Street Bridge? How will the SRT/ECG run through the new Penn Park? How will the unconnected Gray's Ferry Crescent hook up to the rest of the Schuylkill River Trail? How will University City, Clark Park and Spruce Hill link to the SRT and ECG? How will the West Bank Greenway in Powelton /Mantua continue into West Philadelphia and ultimately link to the SRT?
The Schuylkill River Park Alliance worked hard to make a feasibility study of the "West Bank Connector" possible. The Schuylkill River Development Corp., with funding from the William Penn Foundation and Commonwealth Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, is directing this study on how to connect the West Bank Greenway with the Schuylkill River Trail and continue into South and Southwest Philadelphia.
Learn more about KSK, the planning consultant's, work on this study at this public meeting on the West Bank Schuylkill River Trail and Gray's Ferry Crossing (a new bike/ped bridge over the Schuylkill next to the Gray's Ferry Bridge). This is your best chance to have a say and be heard on two very important trail projects that fill in critical gaps in the SRT and ECG network in the tidal Schuylkill and West and Southwest Philadelphia. Don't miss this meeting!
