Salesforce & IT Administrator

 

Description of Organization 

University City District (UCD) is a nonprofit special services district that leverages a dynamic collaboration among universities, health systems, businesses, and community groups. UCD works to enhance public spaces, improve public safety, revitalize commercial corridors, support job growth, and connect residents with career opportunities through its workforce development intermediary, The Skills Initiative. 

 

General Statement of Duties 

This role, which is new to the organization, will serve as the primary point of contact for internal staff regarding Salesforce and on-site IT infrastructure. The position will work closely with University City District’s managed IT services provider to oversee on-site hardware, network infrastructure, user workstations, and software licensing. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator, responsible for maintaining and optimizing the organization’s Salesforce environment. Key responsibilities include building custom objects, managing workflows, integrating with external databases, and overseeing user access and security. 

Note: This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 in-office days per week.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and deploy custom Salesforce objects, fields, formulas, validation rules, workflows, and process flows to meet cross-organizational needs. 
  • Gather and analyze requirements from staff to build and customize Salesforce applications and solutions. 
  • Provide ongoing Salesforce support to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues. Develop and deliver ongoing Salesforce training for UCD staff.  
  • Develop and manage Salesforce Marketing Cloud journeys. 
  • Develop IT onboard process for new employees.  
  • Manage and maintain on-site hardware (e.g., workstations, printers, network devices, phones) and software, ensuring optimal performance and security. 
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and upgrading of computer hardware and software. 
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting and collaborate with the external managed IT provider for complex network issues. 
  • Map, label, and document existing IT infrastructure and network cabling. 
  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors for hardware procurement, software licensing, and specialized support. 
  • Coordinate with the managed IT provider for server maintenance, cybersecurity measures, and strategic IT planning. 
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues, escalating to the managed IT provider when necessary. 
  • Maintain an inventory of IT assets, software licenses, and warranties. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Salesforce configurations, IT procedures, standard operating procedures, and user guides. 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Salesforce releases, features, and best practices, and recommend relevant updates or enhancements. 

 

Qualifications 

The right candidate will have experience with:

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud  
  • Salesforce Experience Cloud 
  • Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack 
  • Creation of custom Salesforce objects 
  • Managing user access levels  
  • Integration of Salesforce with external objects through APIs 
  • Managing local networks  
  • Microsoft 365 account management  
  • Hardware troubleshooting and asset management  
  • Providing strong, consistent customer service  

 

Preferred Certifications 

  • Salesforce Platform Developer  
  • Marketing Cloud Developer 

 

Salary:

Between $75- $85K.
