The Pediatric Cancer Summit at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia gave childhood cancer advocacy and community fundraising groups and members of the media the opportunity to listen to five of CHOP’s scientific experts discuss their work.

On Monday, September 19, University City District celebrated the release of The State of University City 2011. Held at University City's World Café Live, the event featured remarks from University of Pennsylvania executive vice president Craig Carnaroli, Drexel University president John Fry, and The Wistar Institute Cancer Center's Dario Altieri. In addition, UCD executive director Matt Bergheiser discussed the neighborhood's unprecedented progress, especially within the fields of science and innovation, and the commercial and real estate sectors.
