Pop-Ups at the Portal

Pop-Ups at the Portal is an annual series presented by University City District in partnership with local artist Gretchen Elise, presented every Thursday from May 8 to June 5 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at Trolley Portal Gardens.

Pop-up performances are returning to Trolley Portal Gardens (40th and Baltimore)! We’re teaming with local performer and curator Gretchen Elise for five weeks of free, all-ages entertainment. Our pop-ups will run on Thursdays in 2025 from May 8th through June 5th, the evening of our first Baltimore Avenue Dollar StrollPerformances run from 5:30 – 7:30 PM and are fair-weather only. Get ready to groove with Gretchen Elise! Residing in Philadelphia, Elise calls the spectrum between jazz and hip-hop her home. Come dance, be intrigued, and be inspired! Her Trolley Portal set will occur during the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll and will feature special guests including MC The Authentic.
