Help Us Select Our 2025 Movies in Clark Park Lineup

We’re celebrating the 10th anniversary of Movies in Clark Park with standout movies from 1985, 1995, 2005, and 2015. Help us pick our lineup of films!

A crowd sits on the grass at Clark Park, watching an outdoor movie under the evening sky surrounded by trees and glowing lights.

In 2015 UCD debuted Movies in Clark Park, our annual series of outdoor films planned in partnership the Friends of Clark Park and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. For 2025, as a nod to the 10th anniversary of Movies in Clark Park, we’ll be screening four films celebrating anniversaries from the years 1985, 1995, 2005, and 2015, and we want your help picking our lineup!

For the tenth anniversary, we’re asking community members to vote on their preferred films out of two choices for each year. We narrowed down our options based on popular films, our own favorites, and what was available for us to license. We’ll use the poll results to influence this year’s schedule of films running over four Fridays in August from August 1st through August 22nd. Submit your votes by Friday, March 28th and we’ll share our official schedule on Wednesday, April 2nd.

Vote for your preferred movies!

You have until Friday, March 28th, 2025 to submit your votes for your preferred movies from 1985, 1995, 2005, and 2015.

1985

The Goonies: This old-fashioned adventure story with plenty of 80s nostalgia follows a group of children racing against a family of criminals for possession of a pirate’s treasure that can save their homes from being turned into a country club.

Clue: A madcap ensemble comedy based on the popular board game featuring zany action, hilarious performances, and a murder mystery for the cast and the audience to solve, starring Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, and more.

1995

Clueless: This remake of the classic Jane Austen novel Emma changes the setting to a Beverly Hills high school during the mid-90s and features breakout performances and an iconic soundtrack, and functions as a definitive time capsule of the mid-90s.

Toy Story: The first fully-computer animated feature film launched both the Toy Story franchise and Pixar as a film studio. The film details a collection of toys led by Woody, a plucky cowboy, who must deal with the arrival of Buzz Lightyear, a new action figure who threatens to become their owner Andy’s new favorite.

2005

Madagascar: The smash hit from Dreamworks tells the story of a quartet of animals living at the Central Park Zoo who wind up on the island of Madagascar and must adjust to living in the wild. Featuring the voice talents of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Hitch: The charming 2005 romantic comedy starring Will Smith as a smooth-talking dating expert who mentors a bumbling client (Kevin James) to help him win his dream girl, but whose own techniques are thrown off when he encounters a beautiful tabloid reporter (Eva Mendes).

2015

Creed: The 2015 surprise hit is a continuation of the Rocky franchise with new star Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, son of Apollo. Our original screening of Creed in the summer of 2016 was one of our best editions of Movies in Clark Park, so we’ve put it back into consideration to show a second time!

Mad Max: Fury Road: Mad Max: Fury Road continues the Mad Max saga with a pulsing thrill ride starring Tom Hardy as Max and Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa. Considered a commercial and critical hit, the movie topped many “best of” lists and went on to earn ten Academy Award nominations, winning six.
