Presented in partnership with Friends of Clark Park, Philadelphia Parks and Rec, and Premiere Outdoor Movies, UCD screens films on select summer Fridays at sundown in the Clark Park Bowl (43rd and Chester) during fair weather.
Since its debut in 2015, the event has drawn tens of thousands of visitors, showcasing family favorites, blockbusters, cult classics, and more under the stars. Screenings typically occur on Fridays in August beginning at sundown. In 2025, UCD will celebrate ten years of Movies in Clark Park with special anniversary screenings. Stay tuned for updates on our film selections this summer! The dates for screenings in summer of 2025 will be:
- Friday, August 1st
- Friday, August 8th
- Friday, August 15th
- Friday, August 22nd
- RAIN DATE (if necessary): Saturday, August 23rd
We offer sponsorship opportunities at multiple levels, including tabling, pre-show slideshow placement, and event announcements. To get involved, email Margaret Starke, Senior Manager of Events and Community Partnerships.
UCD requires dry conditions in the Clark Park bowl to screen films without risking damage to the park. UCD may elect to postpone or cancel film screenings due to the following conditions:
- Muddy conditions within the bowl from prior rain or flooding
- High winds
- The threat of lightning
- Forecasted or sudden rain that can potentially cause serious damage to the A/V equipment we rent to screen the films
We make every effort to announce postponements or cancelations via our social media channels and emails sent to our event lists prior to a scheduled screening. Sudden changes in forecasts or conditions do occasionally force us to postpone or cancel after a movie screening has already begun.
